My Brain Isn’t Working

by

At least that is how I feel! I’m battling perimenopause and the brain fog is out of this world. If I’m not struggling to find the right words, I’m struggling to put a sentence together. If I’m not struggling with that, I’m struggling with remembering simple little tasks. It got so bad that I thought I was getting early dementia! I was told by my doctors that I was fine, but I can’t even handle a prolonged conversation anymore. My mind is all over the place while trying to remember what the conversation was about in the first place.

Just the other day me and my husband were at a resturant and I struggled trying to explain my order to the waitress. In my mind I knew what I wanted, but verbalizing it was a task in itself. I’ve been told by many women who went through perimenapause and are currently in menopause that brain fog and forgetfulness is unforuntately the norm due to our hormones shifting dramaticlly. Adding to that, perimenopause is a transition period that can last between 4-10 years!

Hear me when I say, being a woman is not for the weak! Let me say that one mo’ time: Being a woman is NOT for the weak because our bodies and our hormones be taking us through it, but I’m not going to let it get me down. I’m surprised I was able to finish this blog post. Let me just go ahead and end it right here.
