Seriously, it will ya’ll. If you are not careful, stress can lead to heart attacks, strokes, heart disease and high blood pressure just to name a few. I found out the hard way a few months ago how destructive stress can be on the human body and I hope to never experience such an episode again. Here me when I say that it’s very important that we find productive and helpful ways to manage our stress before it is too late.
I would love to say that I never get stressed, but the fact of the matter is that I do, we all do. For far too long I had been allowing certain things to stress me to the point where it was affecting me mentally and physically and it was not a good feeling. My body had enough and a few months ago it told me in the most clear and defining way that my stress was going to be the end of us if I don’t make a change and so I changed.
Immediately from that day forward, I decided that I wouldn’t be a victim to my own stress. I started eating better and exercising more and whenever a stressful event arose, I prayed about it and placed it in God’s hands. No longer would I internalize that stress to the point where I would get stomach pain, chest pains, headaches and nerve problems. Those days are long gone! I see things differently now and I handle them differently because the scare I had almost took me out of here.
I no longer stress over the things that are beyond my control because I finally came to the realization this later in life that stressing over something to the point where it makes me sick does nothing for me. The problem or issue is still there and will probably always be there, but making myself sick over it won’t do me a bit of good. Now, I just hope for the best and let God do the rest because I know that no matter what, He gots me and He gots you too!
Stress can be a buzz kill—> DON’T let it kill you.
